With the return of its Kerax XTREM, Renault Trucks has introduced sweeping changes to its ultra-rugged truck range.

The newly-launched 8x4 configuration now expands the current 6x4 and 6x6 product offering.

In addition, significant technical evolutions integrating the entire range further consolidate the vehicle's efficency and robustness to handle the most severe conditions :
- The 32T parabolic rear suspension has been strengthened to handle greater load volumes
- The PMR3396 drive axles have been upgrated to reach a capacity of 36T
- The air filter has new protective elements to offer greater reliability in mining exploration environments

Renault Trucks South Africa has scored another commercial success by signing an agreement with Massyn Transport (benchmark haulier in the Johannesburg region).
Massyn Transport has chosen the Renault Premium Lander 440.26 6x4 Optidriver+ Tractor.
The fuel consumption and operating cost optimisation delivered by this vehicle were clearly confirmed during comparative tests carried out by the customer.
For Renault Trucks South Africa, this success comes after making a sustained effort to nurture customer satisfaction and maintain the relationship built on confidence needed for them to decide on replacing their fleet with Renault Trucks vehicles.

Construction Days in South Africa

Once again many people attended these Construction Days.

In February 2011, over 120 customers, prospects and journalists attended these Construction Days organised in South Africa. They offered an opportunity to test the range’s vehicles under actual operating conditions in working quarries and some of the country’s largest open cast coal mines.
Everyone was impressed by the Renault Trucks vehicles’ performance, driving comfort, reliability and robustness, while at the same time appreciating the close relationship the manufacturer maintains with its customers.
Despite the truckers’ strike which was paralysing the country when this event was being held, the 2nd edition of these Construction Days was able to go ahead as planned, particularly due to the efficiency of the transporters who, under escort, were able to cover the 2,500 km route from Cape Town to Durban and Middleburg safely.

Renault Trucks and the DAKAR 2011

DAKAR
January, from 1st to 16th

The Dakar 2011 brings Renault Trucks into closer contact with its customers
Having played a role in the Dakar for more than 30 years, Renault Trucks is continuing the adventure from 2 to 15 January 2011 in Argentina and Chile. The Kerax 6x6 Rally Raid assistance vehicle will be accompanied by the Sherpa, the "star" of previous editions which whips up more and more enthusiasm with every year that passes. Renault Trucks will be taking advantage of the event to promote its products on local markets, particularly Optifuel Solutions adapted to its "Construction" range and present the new Premium Lander fitted with the Optidriver+ robotised gearbox which will be launched on the South American market in 2011. In December, Renault Trucks Argentina also launched the second edition of its "Do you see yourself in a Rally?" prize draw which enables customers, suppliers or members of the Renault Trucks Argentina staff to win seats in the Kerax assistance vehicle and other presents.

An off-road vehicle par excellence, with exemplary pulling power, flawless reliability and outstanding crossing capacity, Renault Kerax will once again be an unmissable feature of the Dakar 2011. Operating as an assistance vehicle, it will play the immensely valuable role of "Good Samaritan" for those competing. And, as has now become the tradition, once again this year it will be "escorted" by the Sherpa, a vehicle of military origins with an uncompromising appearance and impressive ground clearance that makes it one of the most popular vehicles in the rally caravan every year!
For Renault Trucks, the Dakar in Argentina and Chile is the ideal opportunity for communicating to and making closer contacts with its South American customers. This is why Renault Trucks' South American subsidiary organised its "Do you see yourself in a Rally?" prize draw once again this year - allowing customers, suppliers and Renault Trucks staff to play online to win seats in the Kerax assistance vehicle cab during the Rally's 14 stages. In fact, there is still time to play as it is continuing for everyone up to the end of January on the http://www.rallyrse.com/?lang=en site.

To make its products and services better known, Renault Trucks will also be highlighting its Optifuel Solutions adapted to its Construction range and, during the entire course of the rally, will be presenting the new Renault Premium Lander fitted with the Optidriver+ robotised gearbox which will become available in South America during 2011.
Finally, a particularly high profile will be given to the social responsibility programme set up by the Argentinian subsidiary in November. This programme is based on two themes that are very important to Renault Trucks: road safety and preserving the environment. Six journalists specialising in this type of programme will be accompanying the Renault Trucks teams and highlighting 14 key questions relative to these issues. Several events have been planned to take place all along the route and reports of the various initiatives will be posted online in a dedicated blog (http://www.rallyrse.com/?lang=en).

Fehrenkötter

Fehrenkötter,
Renault Premium Route Leader...
RENAULT TRUCKS COMES OUT TOP IN GERMAN HAULIER'S COMPARATIVE TEST
After three years of testing 7 trucks from the 7 different manufacturers on the German market under actual operating conditions, results of the "Fehrenkötter" tests carried out jointly by Joachim Fehrenkötter's German haulage company and the newspaper trans aktuell have been declared - and Renault Premium Long Distance earns first place! It is therefore acknowledged to be the truck which is the least expensive to operate and which has the lowest fuel consumption. Reliability, consumption and aftersales services provided by the manufacturer were all taken into account and analysed to produce the ongoing rankings. Renault Trucks is delighted that the Premium Long Distance's qualities, making it the leader for fuel savings in its category, were confirmed by this long-term test, carried out independently under actual operating conditions. The manufacturer takes this result as an encouragement to continue improving its products' quality and the services it provides to customers.

When he purchased seven trucks from the seven brands active in the market place, German haulier Fehrenkötter wanted to find out which was the best truck and the best brand in terms of reliability and operating costs, but also for customer relations and service.
After operating all contenders over a three-year period, the Renault Premium Route has finally been declared the winner! It has been recognized as the champion in terms of operating costs and fuel consumption. The figures speak for themselves: in the course of the three years during which the test was carried out, and after covering 401,325 km, its overall operating costs were the lowest of the seven trucks tested at only 63.34 eurocents per kilometre. Furthermore, with an average fuel consumption of 32.4 L per 100 km, its consumption was also the lowest recorded. These results confirm that under actual operating conditions, the Renault Premium Long Distance leads the field in terms of fuel savings - a fact that customers have realised for a long time.
"Its consumption is sensational," announces driver Rolf Liepe. "Despite its six axles, it consumes very little Diesel. Furthermore it is very pleasant to drive, particularly because of its robotised gearbox, and is very comfortable."
Specialising in the international transport of farm machinery, camping-cars and transport vehicles, the Fehrenkötter group operates a fleet of some 200 vehicles which, until now, have all been supplied by a single manufacturer. This private test over three years is all the more representative in that it has been carried out using production vehicles with equivalent power ratings and under actual operating conditions within the company. The 7 trucks were all 6x2 rigids with power ratings varying from 400 to 420 hp. The Renault Trucks vehicle was a Renault Premium Route 410.25 6x2 rigid, driven by a single driver for assignments in Germany and by two others for deliveries in the rest of Europe.
The test was organised jointly by the Spedition Fehrenkötter haulage company and the ETM Verlag publishing group. The results are drawn from their own measurements: neither Renault Trucks, nor any of the other manufacturers intervened at any time or in any way. All costs incurred by the vehicles (purchases, maintenance, breakdowns, repairs, etc.) were noted down and incorporated into an overall cost price on the basis of which the rankings were determined.
In addition to the vehicles themselves, the haulier also compared each brand's aftersales service and the quality of the relationship they maintained with the customer. For every operation, labour and spare parts costs were incorporated into the truck's overall operating costs. Finally, it should be mentioned that all the trucks were purchased without any centralised maintenance contract.
This victory is result of teamplay for Renault Trucks and is still something the brand can be proud of, since the Premium Long Distance's qualities have been highlighted under genuine and totally independent test conditions. Renault Trucks sees this triumph as an additional encouragement for it to continue further improving the quality of its products and the services it supplies to customers.

CONSTRUCTION DAYS FOR RENAULT TRUCKS SOUTH AFRICA

Try the construction range...CONSTRUCTION DAYS FOR RENAULT TRUCKS SOUTH AFRICA

Renault Trucks South Africa welcomed a group of 80 professionals and journalists on 5 and 6 October with the aim of promoting the Construction range to customers and prospects in the mining, earthmoving, concrete and quarry working sectors. The test drives carried out on various Renault Kerax and Premium Lander configurations, as well as the static display of around 10 fully equipped vehicles, gave all the guests an opportunity to judge the vehicles' pulling power, agility and mobility as well as the efficiency offered by the Renault Trucks range.

At the same time as the test drives, this industry-specific presentation was complemented by a "partner village", where some 10 fully bodied vehicles were on display.

These Construction Days were very well perceived by customers from these sectors of activity. The press was also able to comment on this sector approach adopted by Renault Trucks, which allows the manufacturer to address customers' core concerns much more directly.

Renault Trucks - MKR Technology ended the European Truck Racing Championship this weekend on the top step of the podium with the European Champion’s crown! The Jarama (Spain) Grand Prix brought a triumphant conclusion to the season with a pair of one-twos and a third place on the podium. The team finishes the competition in first place, 27 points ahead of its nearest rival. This championship title, Renault Trucks' first, crowns a team which didn't even exist one year ago. An accomplishment that celebrates all the work done by the drivers, engineers and mechanics as well as the improvements made to the trucks throughout the season. In the individual rankings, Marküs Bösiger finished in second place and Marküs Oestreich in fourth.
Less than one year after announcing the make-up of the Renault Trucks - MKR Technology team under the leadership of the famous Mario Kress, the goal has been achieved, with the squad carrying off the European Team Championship crown. "Winning such a prize does not happen by chance," comments Stefano Chmielewski, CEO of Renault Trucks SAS. "This team brought together the best in the discipline, both in terms of people and in terms of technology. For the people, I am of course thinking of Mario Kress, the Team Manager with a whole string of titles to his credit, the two drivers, Markus Bösiger and Markus Oestreich, but also all those who worked to achieve this victory, such as the Renault Trucks engine designers and mechanics. As far as the technology is concerned, we would probably not be where we are today if we had not combined Renault Trucks’ engine technology and its DXi13 Racing plus the chassis with the expertise of MKR Technology," he concludes.
During this ninth and final stage of the European Truck Racing Championship, which took place on 2 and 3 October at Jarama in Spain, the two Renault Trucks - MKR Technology drivers were the unchallenged stars of the weekend. With 43 points out of 60 won during the weekend by German driver Markus Oestreich, and 42 by Swiss driver Markus Bösiger, these were the two top scoring drivers in the event. Unfortunately, this was not enough to take them to the top of the podium as individual drivers. Having amassed a total of 335 points, Markus Bösiger retained the N°2 position, while Markus Oestreich just missed a podium ranking, coming in fourth with a total of 293 points.
It is also worth noting that the team has enjoyed a flood of victories and podiums ever since the Most Grand Prix (Czech Republic) in August. Renault Trucks is of course delighted with this victory.
Another achievement was that the 'Markus duo' pulled off a pair of one-twos, occupying the two steps the podium during the first races on the Saturday and Sunday - with Bösiger coming in first on the Saturday, and Oestreich echoing the feat on the Sunday. The second race on Saturday saw M. Oestreich earn third place, as did M. Bösiger in the third. However, during the fourth race the Markus duo was quite simply nowhere to be seen among the top finishers, both of them having been pushed off the track.
True to its commitment, Renault Trucks once again stood out as one of the discipline’s key partners. During the weekend's four races, a Magnum Route 66 served as the event's Pace Truck, which also contributed to the show. There was also the Renault Trucks stand hosting the usual photographic session and autograph signing with the drivers. For the first time, the boutique was selling the new 'Truck Racing' line of derived products. As its name implies, this line is mainly aimed at truck racing aficionados and adopts the Premium Racing colour codes.
During the two days of competition, more than 250 customers took up the invitation sent to them by Renault Trucks' Iberian subsidiary (covering Portugal and Spain). Two weeks after Le Mans, it was therefore their turn to discover one prototype from the future Renault Premium Truck Racing limited edition due for release in 2011. The weekend's other star, the Magnum Route 66 limited edition, soon to be marketed in Spain and Portugal, was also on display.

New Renault Master: the 'Services Included' LCV from Renault Trucks

New Renault Master: The 'Services Included' LCV from Renault Trucks
